On a recent trip to Uganda we were honored to reconnect with one of our very first partners. In addition to training 10 new students in extraction, we were joined by 10 returning students we trained over a decade ago. It was a joyful reunion for our returning students and an amazing training for the 10 new ones.
While we were there, we asked each of the returning students to write a little about what they’ve been doing since they were trained. Here are their testimonies:
I was trained in 2010 by mPower Approach. Before I was poor. I had a lot of challenges in life, most especially with the work of God. But now I can go to preach elsewhere. I can stabilize my family, give education, etc. I have friends who come to get service and we share the word of God and other problems. I have seen a lot of need for partnership with mPower.
I am a trainee of 2010, since then I have a lot of changes both to me and family. I am doing extraction at least three patients a day. They have given me a new name, Doctor. I am doing extractions both from home and being called through phone.
A student from 2012. The mPower training gave me a lot of progress and it has change my life totally. I would like to thank the ministry of mPower for giving me a universal knowledge to help the community around me. I have worked on more than 800 patients within and around my community.
Trained in 2011. I went back to school for various courses: medical lab, admin law, public admin, etc. Made money and went back to the seminary for theological course. Made money sponsored evangelism in different districts where very many people have given their lives to Christ Jesus. Made money constructed collectively more churches together with other church members. Made money sponsored helpless/needy children to go to school who are now somebody in the community. Made money constructed and now own a medical institution and Institution of Health Science. I constructed and now own a skills vocational training centre with a very large population.
I trained in 2012. Number of patients worked on since then is over 1500. Preached words of God to them and over 500 patients gave their lives to Christ. This has changed our lives. I had 4 children but I now have 6. I am opening churches and pastoring now.
