Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:35,37
An mPower Approach team will return to West Africa soon. By God’s grace, we have been working there for over 15 years. Story after story reveals to us that the indigenous believers we have trained undergo much persecution and yet remain more than conquerors.
When we teach Pastors and Evangelists the skill of extracting teeth, new doors are opened to them. It is our hope that with this new skill they are able to become self sustaining. We ask them to charge a small amount for their services which enables them to resupply and better provide for their families and the local church. Many times these Community Dental Health Workers are invited into places they were not previously welcome, thus opening the door to share the Good News.
However, true to God’s word, as His kingdom expands and His children are equipped there is often an increase in hardship. One of the Pastors we trained said he finally asked God, “Is it a curse to obey you Lord?” This gentle and precious man alone saw 700 patients in less than a year and every single one of them, most of whom were muslim, heard the gospel message.
In West Africa and beyond, he and hundreds more have been empowered to relieve great suffering among their people. The pain is unbearable and the need endless but as conquerors, no, more than conquerors through Him, they will overcome because that’s what conquerors do.
